We are Back

Its been a while but we have decided to start updating this blog site.  As we have been at home for the last 2 weeks due to the Virus we have taken the opportunity to do some digging at the allotment. As the ground was really soft it been really easy to dig it over.  We haven't 100% completely weeded it yet but we hope to do it soon.

This used to be several different beds but we have decided to try and get rid of the grass as much as we can and make a very large bed.  This method worked really well for us and it allows to plant easier as I have more room and less restricted by being in small beds.  Our next view to give it another dig over, hopefully, the rotavator will be fixed.I also, have some potato coming in a few days and they will go in this bed.Bed below is not great for growing not sure why.  Steve has started to dig it over as we plan to put our new raspberry plants when they arrive

I only have a few Broad Beans growing that I planted just after Christmas and they seem to be doing really well. Tomorrow I am planning loads of planting in the greenhouse

Extra 40 leeks!

It seems I ordered some veg earlier in the year but it seems I have forgotten so 40 leek plants turned up at my office last week.  Luckily I do have room.

Update view

Here is an updated view of the allotment

Yes I am back

It's been a few years but I am back.
We have had a busy few months getting the plot ready for this years growing season.

We have never had much success with beans so this year we decided to grow the broad beans directly into the ground and so far it's been a success
We don't normally have much success with our onions but this year we haven't done to bad, this is the second batch I have planted but they seem to do ok.

I am trying carrots again, this time I started them off in the greenhouse then transferred them to the allotment. I haven't managed to thin them so they won't be big carrots but it's a start.
